Who may be suitable?
Adults with relatively stable weight, realistic expectations and mild-to-moderate local laxity or limited fat may be assessed. Age, elasticity, excess skin, fat distribution, health and previous treatment guide selection.
When is treatment not recommended?
This elective treatment is not performed during active infection, pregnancy, uncontrolled systemic illness or significant wound-healing problems. Treatment while taking warfarin or other anticoagulants is not recommended in this clinic pathway because of bleeding risk. Do not stop medication yourself; any future plan requires coordination with the prescribing clinician.
How is treatment planned?
After marking and suitable anaesthesia, treatment may use a device and fibre beneath the skin. Laser treatment and laser-assisted fat aspiration are not identical procedures; the technique and need for aspiration should be explained.
Benefits, outcomes and limitations
The aim is a change in local appearance, not obesity treatment. Some changes become apparent over time. Outcome and duration depend on device, technique, starting condition and weight changes. Different systems cannot be assumed to have identical effects.
Risks and aftercare
Swelling, bruising and tenderness may occur. Burns, infection, contour irregularity, altered sensation and area-specific nerve injury are discussed. Compression, activity and reviews are individualised. Increasing pain, marked colour change or fever require contact with the team.
Frequently asked questions
Is a definite result achieved in one session?
Selected patients may see the intended improvement develop over time after one session; others may need further sessions or another approach. Outcomes vary and are not guaranteed. Nutrition, weight changes and exercise also influence the course and maintenance of results.
Is it the same as open surgery?
No. Endolaser is a minimally invasive fibre-based procedure through small entry points, rather than open excision or extensive lifting. Anaesthesia, access-site care and recovery are still required. Major excess skin or advanced laxity may be better addressed surgically.
When can I return to work?
After limited treatment, suitable patients may resume light work and daily activity the same day or soon afterwards. Body or facial compression may be needed and can delay work by 1–2 days in some cases. Larger areas, aspiration, sedation or strenuous jobs can require longer recovery. Your clinician confirms timing after treatment.
