Recovery after endolaser: what to expect day by day
Short answer: Swelling, mild bruising and tenderness are expected for the first 2–3 days after endolaser. Most people return to desk work within 1–3 days. Compression is worn for as long as your doctor advises; strenuous exercise, sauna, hammam and strong sun are usually postponed for 1–2 weeks.
The first 24 hours
- Entry points may ooze slightly; dress them as advised.
- Keep the compression garment on.
- Cold application as permitted reduces swelling; never put ice directly on the skin.
- Use only the pain relief you were advised to take.

Days 2–7
- Swelling and bruising start to settle; firmness and numbness are normal.
- For face and neck treatments, sleeping with the head slightly raised reduces swelling.
- You can usually shower the next day; avoid hot or high-pressure water on the area.
Weeks 2–4
- Compression is usually worn at night for the face and neck, and longer for body areas. Your doctor sets the duration.
- Strenuous exercise and positions that press on the area resume after the check-up.
- Small firm areas soften over months; massage only if advised.

When to seek help straight away
Increasing pain, spreading redness, fever, discharge, rapidly growing swelling, skin discolouration or blistering need review without waiting for your appointment. After facial treatment, an asymmetric smile or difficulty swallowing should also be reported immediately.
